BS4736-3.30:2015 Cable

It was reintroduced in 2015 due to an influx of poor-quality cables being sold in the UK market, causing systems to malfunction. The standard provides for three classifications of cable construction with a clear stipulation of testing requirements and guidance on the application of cables for fitting.

A seven-class scale has been developed from Aca through to Fca to enable specifiers, installers, and authorities to understand how cables respond if they were to be exposed to fire.
