Electro-Magnetic Locks

Electro-Magnetic Locks are electrified locking devices which consist of a electro-magnet and an armature plate to lock a door when powered up, then released by a device such as a push to exit button or keypad.

Electric Releases

Electric Releases are an electrified locking device fitted into the internal of the door and frame which uses electricity to move the latch and unlock or lock the door.

  • 12V and 24V AC and DC options available
  • Fail locked or fail unlocked options with monitoring available
  • Can be used for inward or outward opening doors
  • Fire rated for 30 and 60 minute timber doors available
  • Extension lips available for different retrofit and new installation projects
Electric Releases

Electric Locks

Electric locking products are available in two variations, solenoid or motorised types. They are designed to provide controlled access through a door in one or both directions by controlling the operation of the locking bolt. Unlike electric releases, which are a combination of a mechanical latch and an electrically controlled striker.

  • Higher holding forces than other electric locking products
  • Available fail-unlocked and fail locked
  • Surface housing kits available
  • Single-action and double action available
  • Available for swing and sliding doors
  • Many of the solenoid bolts can be fitted in the header or door jamb

Keypads and readers allow for either key-coded PIN entry or the use of a proximity reader with a card or fob to enable access throughout a building.

Keypads & Readers

Exit Buttons

Exit buttons are often referred to as RTE’s (Request to Exit Buttons) their function is to release a locking device from the non-secure side of the door. Once the exit button is activated the door can be released and then relocks on closure.

Manual Call Points

A Manual call point (MCP) also known as a break glass unit is
a means of releasing a locking mechanism from the door in an emergency often used on access control and fire systems, along with gas supplies and water shut offs. Following activation of a MCP they are reset using a special key.
