BS4737-3.30:2015 is a British Standard that relates to cables used in alarm systems. It was introduced in February 2015 with the purpose of eliminating sub-standard cables from the UK market, it includes 3 classifications of cable construction as well as guidance on the installation of intruder alarm cable.
The Construction Product Regulation (CPR) applies to all intruder alarm cable placed on the market for use in a fixed installation in domestic, commercial and industrial premises and other civil engineering works anywhere in the UK and European Union under EN50575.
The CPR is solely concerned with the reaction of cable to fire and resistance to fire properties, resulting in awarding 1 of 7 classifications to each product or family of products, these tests need to be carried out by an independent notified body.
