Panic hardware refers to a type of exit device installed on doors, typically in public buildings, to allow for a quick and easy exit in case of an emergency. It’s often associated with panic bars  which are horizontal bars that, when pushed, release the locking mechanism and open the door without the need for a key.

This hardware is designed to prevent bottlenecks or delays when people need to evacuate a building quickly, such as in the case of a fire or other emergency. The device ensures that people can easily open the door with a simple push, even in high-stress situations, making it an essential safety feature in buildings with high foot traffic. Panic hardware is for environments with over 60 peoples as per EN1125.
