The Construction product regulation (CPR) for cables is coming to the Security Industry. This will be a mandatory requirement for any fixed installation cable [expander_maker more=”Read more” less=”Read less”] where it is to be used in the construction or fabric of a building. The regulation will introduce a CE mark to allow free movement of goods in the EU ensuring consistent quality. What is CPR? CPR Stands for Construction Products Regulation. These are rules implemented by the European Commission. CPR rules call for products, now including cables, to be tested and certified based on certain criteria before they are used in European buildings. Dear All Many many thanks to all of you for being outstandingly generous. Brathay is hugely grateful.   I had a brilliant day with so much on course support for “City Chris” – and still felt reasonably unruffled at the end. My hat stayed on the whole way and my tie was never loosened! In fact by the end it seemed perfectly normal to be bowling along in my suit! You can read more in depth if you wish at   I promised you that this sponsorship would be for more than just London. I can now announce the rest of my programme and I hope to be able to give you some amazing live tracking, video and photos from it.

  • On October 29th and 30th I will be running a marathon and a half marathon in Greenland. Across the icecap and tundra near Kangerlussuaq. The temperatures will be around -10 to -15. Not as cold as when I ran in Siberia, but nippy.
  • On January 28th 2017 I will be running a marathon down a frozen river in Outer Mongolia. The temperature will be between -40 and -50. Which is very seriously cold!! Apart from the danger posed by this degree of cold the other risk is of attack by the large wild wolf population. We are accompanied by a team of huskies which should keep the wolves at bay. Only 7 people have ever done this.

More anon. Thank you all once again With best wishes Chris   You can continue to support Chris at Virgin Money Donation Page Or follow his remarkable challenges at

LIUB CQR – Gone blue in support for  Autism Awareness week. #LIUB

I’m running the London Marathon on Sunday 24th April and hoping to raise £3000 for Brathay Trust’s continuing work with vulnerable children.

You know I can run a marathon so to make it a bit more difficult I’ll be dressed for a day in the City. Full work suit, shirt and tie – here I am:

Here are over 7000 reasons it’s worth supporting me and Brathay:

  • I’m putting my money where my mouth is – yes I’m sponsoring myself to the tune of £1000!
  • All supporters will get an email link to live tracking on the day so you can follow my progress
  • You get involvement in 3 events – not just London. Later in the year I’ll be announcing (subject to being accepted) 2 expeditions to the ends of the earth  – and everyone who sponsors me for London will receive unique photos and updates as I travel to and run in some of the most remote places on earth.
  • With your support Brathay will be able to transform the lives of well over 7000 hard to reach and vulnerable young people in 2016
